Ten 100 Calorie Snacks

So you cut back on eating so many calories a day but now you are starving. You need to add healthier snacks to your day.... Options that will fill you up but are low in calories.


10 Snacks I Enjoy That are Under 100 Calories


  1. 1 banana
  2. 3 cups air popped popcorn
  3. 8 Shrimp and 4 tbls cocktail sauce
  4. 1/2 cup of nonfat yogurt and 1 tbls of Grape-Nuts
  5. 1 hardboiled egg with handful of baby carrots
  6. 12 raw almonds
  7. 1 cup strawberries and  2 tbls of Greek yogurt sweetened with stevia
  8. 1/2 whole wheat English muffin, topped with tomato slice and a thin slice of reduced fat cheese
  9. 1 cup of frozen grapes
  10. 1 cup fresh broccoli with approx 2 tbls of hummus

Tighten Up Tuesday- Inner Thighs!

One of my favorite features are my legs. I was able to keep them pretty toned by combining specific exercise with a good diet and a good workout programs. Then I had babies and my family life seemed to takeover much of my time and I started to lose some of that tone. It's back though but I continue to work to maintain the tone.  I'm cute, but lets face it, I aint no spring chicken, lol. 

Its crucial to know the right leg toning exercises combined with a clean diet and a cardio program. My favorite program to effectively shape the legs and but is Brazil Butt Lift. Within the first week, you will definitely begin to see the difference in your legs. Its 30 days and low impact. Here are a couple toning exercises specifically for the inner thighs if that's your trouble zone. They are also featured in the Brazil Butt Lift workout but with variation and resistance.

Workout Wednesday! Stretch!

Since I am doing The Ultimate Reset, my workouts will consist of low impact 20 minute walking/biking and stretching daily. I need it too. Every once in a while, I suffer from restless legs at night. I find that eating a balanced diet and getting in a good stretch in really, really helps.

Recipe-- Yummy Tuna Avocado Salad!!

This is a new recipe I tried recently and I love it. I expected to like the combo but was a little hesitant.  First of all, I LOVE avocado and could just eat it alone everyday.  Then there are days that I really want tuna. But to avoid over indulging in mayo, I have avoided tuna altogether. This recipe still gives you the creaminess of mayo, and satisfies my love of avocado and desire to eat more tuna. 
(I adapted this recipe from Get Shredded-Insanity The Asylum meal plan)


You will need:
1/2 avocado
Juice from half a lime
Salt, cumin, cayenne pepper (to taste)
5oz light tuna packed in water
2-3 cups mixed greens (I used romaine and butter lettuces)
Cucumbers
1/4 c green and orange peppers chopped 
Olive oil (drizzle)
Hot sauce (optional) I like that heat!!!

Place avocado, lime juice, cumin, salt, cayenne pepper in a mixing bowl and mash with a fork into a chunky paste. Taste to make sure you like the flavor and add more seasoning if needed.
Drain tuna well and add to the bowl. Mix well. Pile mixed greens on a plate, top with sliced cucumbers, peppers, and top with your Tuna Avocado mixture. Drizzle with a teaspoon of olive oil and splash a little hot sauce on if desired and Enjoy!!! (I did, lol!)

How to Look More Alive Without the Use of Makeup

1.  Get your workout in early.
I'm not very excited about getting up early to workout. But, it actually works. Just think about it. When you wake up early you wake up your body and it gets your blood pumping.  And what do you get....A healthy, rosy, awake-looking glow.
2. Wear colors that flatter your skin toneNo neutrals. Try choosing a color that flatters you and gives you a healthy flush. For me, its any earth tone that really flatters my tone and also awakens my face. 
If you're cool toned: Choose jewel tones: shades of blue, pinks, purples, blue-greens, magentas, blue-based reds, or pure whites.
If you're warm-toned: Choose earth tones:  yellows, oranges, browns, army and deep greens, orange-based reds, or ivory.

3. Splash Your Face with Ice-Cold WaterSplash your face with ice-cold water as soon as you get up. It shocks your brain and opens up your eyes, and sends blood to your skin. In addition to that, the cold will have a de-puffing effect on your eyes.
4.Wear Cute Earrings.The right pair of earrings—can awaken and frame your face. Plus, they’ll take away unwanted attention from those tired eyes.
5. Drink as Much Water as You Can During the Day. 
Water is what hydrates our organs and our brain. We will feel better and look better. Add some citrus like lemon or lime slices. The scent and vitamin C will help increase your alertness. Living things wilt without water, we will too.

Workout Wednesday!

Waiting for my Ultimate Reset to arrive so I guess I will just workout. LOL I am kinda bummed that our mail has been out of whack since the frigid temps hit Chicago. I had hoped to have started on Monday the 6th. But I can't be mad. I love my mail lady and it's cold! 

So I guess I will be starting the Ultimate Reset either Sunday or Monday.  My workout for today is Body Beast Lucky 7. I have not yet done this workout yet but my hubby and the kids have been doing it the last month and if they can do, surely SuperMama can too! So let me get up and get myself ready. And get my hubby ready to do this workout with me too!

 I will actually do Body Beast until my program arrives and I begin.  Progress is a process!
